Root Beer for St. Louis Style Ribs: Will It Work?

Greetings! I see that many of you use Cola or Dr Pepper for your liquid when making St Louis style spare ribs. The only soda I have in the house is root beer. What's the verdict? Do you guys think that could work? Thanks in advance!

Yes!! Root beer works. I always use Coca Cola but I was out. Used Mr. Mugs Root Beer (Canada) and my ribs came out just as good and fall off the bone juicy. I enjoyed the slight flavour difference as well.
