Cheesecake Batter Filling: To the Rim or Not to the Rim?

3 packages of cream cheese is problem #1, beating it for 5-6 minutes is problem #2, and #3 is cream. It isn't you, it is the recipe
 
@peterandrewj thanks for taking time to look thru the recipe! I definitely did not mix for 5-6 minutes as I knew that was way too much! Live and learn on the rest!
What is the problem with the cream in the recipe??? Just too much liquid?
 
@goddard12 yes, compare it to #17 cheesecake that uses sour cream (I often use Greek yogurt). I use the #17 and then will play with it a bit. I've added banana pudding and sliced bananas and later topped with caramel.
 
I like the #17 cheesecake recipe and the carrot cake cheesecake recipe from Rootitoot.com books. Never had overflow. Use 7" pan.
