Steam Pressure Issues with IP: Replacing the Gasket Fixed It!

FYI. So often I read about the IP not coming to pressure. It just says ON with no timer going. Well, it happened to me. There was no steam coming from anywhere and no hissing sounds. No indication that anything was wrong. I hit cancel and took the lid off and it was definitely heating up. I decided to put a new gasket in the lid and voilá! Dinner was saved.

I store my rings in the freezer. So far, that approach has maintained the ring shape and eliminated any residual odors.

It will say on until it reaches pressure. How long that takes. Could depend on how full, how sold etc. Eg a pot of soup or a whole. Chicken will take longer then a dozen eggs. While it's possible gasket was issue could also just be need to wait

@booknpen I have had lots of soup. Take 45.min to reach pressure. Also if I er. Full won't be enough air space to build. Pressure so e times just opening lid is enough to add space other times need to remove 1 or 2 c broth
