Steaming Vegetables Gone Wrong: Broccoli, Cauliflower, & Carrots Turned to Mush—What Did I Do Wrong?

Units made starting in 2018 and older keep heating faster and hotter. I really just wish they wouldn't make the IPs like that. It heats fast enough without the superhot heating. It causes burn problems too where other brand names don't.
 
I always cook broccoli on high pressure for 0 minutes and it’s perfect everytime, no mush, nice and firm yet. Cauliflower I do at 1 min
 
My way requires watching the IP, but worth a shot. After you place everything in there, I start for 1 min. When it beeps after building pressure, cancel it and release the pressure.
 
If she used cold water in an 8 qt, perhaps because it took so long to come to pressure, they were over done? My 6 qt comes up so much faster than my 8.
