Maybe not an IP response but I would have smacked the verbal hell out of my offspring if they replied in this manner. And you should also be kind enough to keep the food, wash the dishes, etc.

I went on strike once in awhile when I had teenagers in the house. “What’s for dinner?” I would say “I don’t know I am having cereal” Your soup looks delicious

@mantayvera we call that Fend for Yourself night. Leftovers, various snacky stuff, PB&J, cereal, cook something to your skill level. Their creativity often pleasantly surprises me.
