I used to make it directly in the pot, but it’s an extra step and extra handling to transfer it to other containers. Now I use 4 widemouth pint jars in my 6 quart pot and 5 fit in my 8 quart pot. I have also stacked widemouth 1/2 pint jars on top of the pint jars in the 8 quart pot. Somewhere along the line, I picked up a 1-1/2 wide mouth jar… it’s good, too. When I stack the jars, the domed lid still has to fit over it to make a nice warm incubation space.
