Instant Pot Lid Problems: Stuck and Wonky Every Time I Use It - Need Advice or Alternatives

A problem like this is usually a loose nut behind the wheel kind of thing. I'd give it away before I'd throw it away. Someone else may be able to solve the problem.

Never had problem. It just smoothly turns into place. I wonder if possible your lid got warped some way..

been part of this board for a long time, have never seen your problem. Might suggest taking the time to see if you can resolve the issue otherwise you'll miss out on an amazing addition to your cooking repertoire

I dropped my insert and I couldn’t make it work again I threw it out and got a replacement

@husbandintexas make sure the arrow on the lid lines up with the arrow on the pot. Couple people here use nail polish to put a little dot on each so it’s easier

Or use a silver Sharpie to highlight the arrows. That was a suggestion on here that I have found to be really helpful.

I line up the pot lid correctly to put it on. If it is hard to put on, stop. when it is aligned properly, it goes on very easily

Take it back or contact the company. It could be defective

I wonder if you have a faulty lid, it shouldn’t be difficult to put on and off. Make sure that you’re lining up the arrows on the lid when you put it on

@99balloons someone else said that. I never realized there were arrows lol. Now that I know that, the lid works perfectly now!

At least sell it or give it away. Mine gets a little wonky but it comes off.

I always run water around lid before trying, it was a hint from my old stove pressure cooker. Never have a problem
